Barcamp #2: Sunday 24 Sept

Skynet lounge
We have just decided on the location and date for the new Barcamp Brussels:

As you can guess from the location, Skynet has been confirmed as the principal sponsor again (thx Bart and Clo), which allows us to provide a nice and stimulating surrounding for our speakers/attendees.

Topics will be centered around technology and life: web2.0, social software, webdesign, authentic media (audio/ photo/ video), marketing, entrepreneuring. Speaking slots will be 20 minutes (with 10 minute switch-time per session). As we have learned from edition #1, this is NOT a classical speaking length, it is way shorter! We will have at least 3 simultaneous rooms for presentations. All presentations are in English (as we will have a more international crowd present).

If you want to participate, the first thing you need to do is to add your name to:

Topics listed above is soo excluding “Who? Anyone who is interested in open source software and several related topics”
    as listed on the barcampsite.

So my question.. will this be a “Belgian Bloggers Meet” event again .. or a true Technology event trying to move beyond the how to [video/photo][blog/cast] stuff and going to true innovation on topics far beyond Web 2.0 stuff.

I`m really hoping to see the Belgian/European equivalents of Ebay, Google , Hyperic, Alfresco, Qlusters, DimDim , and others.. talking there…

The issue is: if I leave it too open, people ask me all the time for “but what is it about, then”? If I try to give a (far-from-exhaustive) list, others find it too restrictive.

I would like a balance between technical and non-technical topics, between ideas and concrete experiences. When I say “authentic media” I don’t mean “how-to do X in Photoshop”, but at the end of the day I do not create, do or decide on the presentations.
